Eco-friendly Mother’s Day Necklaces

Just because it’s almost Mother’s Day is no excuse to lose your green head. There are plenty of eco-friendly jewelry choices out there nowadays, enough options to please any mama (or mama-to-be) and pieces come in all price ranges too. Following are some earth-friendly necklace choices that will make a mama smile and keep the planet happy too…

Selma Necklace from Moonrise Jewelry – made with a natural, untreated Brazilian Amethyst (Fair Trade Gem).

Vintage Bead Necklace from BTC Elements – I’m not so much the gold type, but even I like this necklace. It’s not quite so bright as most gold pieces you see. This piece is made from recycled gold fill and a pretty little purple vintage glass bead.

I LOVE the recycled sea glass Beach Necklace from Zanisa. Actually I really just love Zanisa on general principal, but this piece is extra stunning. The colors are unique because artist Jessica Lee makes this piece from the sea glass and pottery she finds on the shoreline near her house.

Lastly is the oh so pretty and delicate Hovey Lee Eco Paraiso Necklace from Nimli – Hovey Lee’s designs are sourced from gemstone suppliers that adhere to Fair Trade sourcing standards and the Hovey Lee studio also uses components extracted from vintage jewelries; meaning they make new designs with reclaimed and recycled findings and gemstones.

Later we’ll take a look at some other eco-friendly Mother’s Day gifts – for those mamas who aren’t so into necklaces.
