Perhaps you would have liked tips about nursing in public or choosing a breast pump. Maybe you could have used help preventing engorgement or dealing with plugged ducts. Let others benefit from your hindsight by sharing the information you wish you had known! Please email me your post by October 19, 2009, for consideration for the blog carnival on October 26, 2009.

As a reminder, here are the guidelines that will increase the chances a post will be selected for inclusion in the carnival:
– A well-written, grammatically correct post
– Thoughtful commentary directly on point for the carnival subject
– Overall quality of the rest of your blog and whether the general subject matter is something of interest to our readers (breastfeeding, parenting)

If your post is selected for inclusion, you will be asked on the day of the carnival to publish or re-publish your post with links back to each of the other participants in the carnival.

What I wish I had been told was “yes breastfeeding hurts” especially when ur baby is uber hungry. Get lots of store brand individual tea bags. Soak them in hot tap water while you nurse and put them on ur nipples after every feeding until you nipples ‘toughen up.’ If it hurts a lot take the baby off the breast and try to latch on again. Repeat until it doesn’t hurt or is easily bearable. Also pumps are best to be used as a last resort. I’ve had MANY blocked ducts. I’d rather have a c-section again (I’ve had 3) than have another blocked duct.
