Lenox Christmas China Review & Giveaway

Many products and brands will come and go, but there are certain ones that will remain a constant in our lives.  Lenox is one of those brands.  When I hear the name Lenox, it takes me back to my childhood.  I recall times of hearing about crystal clocks, Christmas china, and beautiful collectables.  Lenox has become a trusted name in home design.  For this reason, I was pleased when I was asked to review the Lenox 12 Days of Christmas dessert plates and mugs.

lenox 12 days of christmas

Each 12 Days of Christmas mug and dessert plate bears a different design inspired by the popular Christmas carol, and is accented with holiday holly berry and garland.  The collection is crafted of Lenox ivory fine porcelain and includes a nice box that could be used for gift giving and storage.

Holiday 12 Days of Christmas Mugs - Set of 12 generous mugs by Lenox, each holds 12 ounces.  Mugs feature twelve different designs, all tied into the 12 Days of Christmas theme.  Each design is elegantly framed with the classic holly and berry garland of Lenox’s popular Holiday™ pattern.  Crafted of ivory porcelain, all mugs are dishwasher and microwave safe. Beautiful Lenox gift box also doubles as a storage box to keep this set protected as you wait for Christmas to arrive again.

Holiday 12 Days of Christmas Dessert Plates – Set of 12 generous dessert plates by Lenox, each measures 9” in diameter. Plates feature twelve different designs, all tied into the 12 Days of Christmas theme. All designs are elegantly framed with the classic holly and berry garland of Lenox’s popular Holiday™ pattern. Crafted of ivory porcelain, all plates are dishwasher and microwave safe. Beautiful Lenox gift box also doubles as a storage box to keep this set protected as you wait for Christmas to arrive again.

There are a few things about this set that really stands out to me.  Both the mugs and the plates are dishwasher and microwave safe.  If you’re like most families, you have a busy lifestyle and you need dishes that can be functional, easy to maintain and care for, and beautiful for guests and your family.  Also, the 12 Days of Christmas dishes are accented with the Lenox Holiday holly and berry garland, which allows them to be used with the Lenox Holiday china. These mugs and plates would be perfect for an after dinner coffee, hot chocolate, and dessert.  The sets come with a nice box for easy storage so that they do not take up a lot of space.

The 12 Days of Christmas mugs and plates retail for $200.00 per set, but Bed Bath & Beyond has them for a great price.  You can get the plate set for $79.99 and the mug set for $79.99!

And on to the giveaway .  .  . This giveaway is for a set of 12 Days of Christmas plates AND a set of 12 Days of Christmas mugs!!!!!!!  Isn’t this exciting?  :)

As always, I like to keep giveaways interesting and fun. There are several ways to enter the contest. Pick one or all of the options, but please leave a comment for each one you complete. It makes it easier to count the entries and pick a winner.

My favorite memory of using Lenox China was on my anniversary. I put the girls down for the night and there was a nice meal prepared for just my husband and I. We used cloth napkins, my Lenox Liberty China, and crystal glasses. It was such a blessing since time alone with my husband was hard to find with two preschoolers.

This year, I sold the china because of the economic downturn in the real estate market. My husband’s company was doing land development, and they are now trying to find other venture to make some money.

During my life, I have never been very concerned about material items or who made them. However, like my grandmother and my mother before me, dishes are an exception. It is so nice to sit down to a “beautifully decorated” table with good food, and lots of friends and family!

    Wish that everyone could win!

I have a Christmas luncheon for volunteers at the animal rescue shelter and I would use these beautiful plates and mugs to make that special for these tireless workers.

  • Judith Musick

wow, i’d have the prettiest christmas dinner table in ohio!

  • Renee G

Well, since we always have Christmas dinner at our house, I would definitely use them then. Some years it’s only 10 -12 people and other years we’ve had as many as 30 people for dinner.

I would have pretty Christmas dishes for Chanukah dinner

  • http://catintheadage.blogspot.com Beth

Oh, I love the Twelve Days of Christmas dishes! I would be torn on how to use them…either I would use them all through the winter, or else just for the actual 12 days of Christmas. Since the plates are very generous in size, I think they could be used as luncheon plates or even for supper…smaller plates mean fewer calories.

  • http://catintheadage.blogspot.com Beth

My favorite Lenox pattern, and the one I would buy 16 place settings of if I became wealthy, is the classic Eternal with gold rims. It looks so rich, feels so smooth and creamy, and would go with all kinds of linens and table decor.

  • Sheila B

I would give it to my daughter who is a newlywed and has a new home,a pretty emoty new home. She loves to entertain and would love these.

  • Sheila B

The Winter Greetings pattern would suit me because it can be used all during the winter and is not just “Christmas ” china.

  • christina

I LOVE the Chirp dinner set, the bright colors and whimsical images appeal to me, but I know that’s a little too much for my husband’s taste so unfortunately if ever I do get a Lennox set, it will be something more conservative like maybe Engagement, I think that would be one we could both agree on. It’s elegant but not too feminine.

I would have fun with the 12 Days of Christmas set. I don’t have a Christmas set, and drool over them in stores. I would probably display them in my china cabinet until my kids are a little older, but it would be fun to look at the set and talk about the different gifts.

Well I am already a subscriber and I follow you on Twitter… but I retweeted this and I want it badly.

I want the 12 days of Christmas because I always like to make the Holiday seem a little special for my five kids during the holidays. Nothing says special like matched China- the rest of the year we eat off any old mismatched set of unbroken eating gear we can find- including paper plates.

Oh and the Butterfly Meadows would suit me just fine. It’s cute, girly, and has a sort of vintage shabby chic feel with the pastel colors and wonderful butterflies. Me. Want.

  • Adrienne Gordon

I would use it to serve new years eve party stuff on for some elegance.

If I won the prize I would utilize the dishes during the Holiday season. Happy Holidays!

We host Christmas Eve dinner every year. My husband makes a fantastic dinner and this would just add that extra something to make this christmas that much more special. We also just found out my extended family has nominated that christmas be held at our house this year. I have two young sons who are “REALLY” into Christmas and this set would be used starting the day we receive it if we are lucky enough to win this. I would love to have this set for the joy of opening up each year and oohing and ahing and looking at each unique piece. Please Pick me!!!!

My mother in law is a short silver haired lady who is full of life. She collects the Lennox winter greetings pattern and each year there is a different piece that she is hoping for. I remember when her china cabinet only had a piece or two, but in the twenty-three years since I joined the family I have seen the collection swell into every nook of the China cabinet. Each year I anticipate what the new addition will be. This collection will someday be passed on to my sister in law and then to her on to her daughters. Along with the china, will also pass a mothers legacy.

  • http://www.mamaonthego.com Katelyn

If I won the china, I would use it for Christmas dinner. It is so pretty and would go perfectly with the boring white dishes I already have.

#2. Tell which Lenox pattern is best suited for you and why. – I would like the 12 Days of Christmas plate set – it’s great! The plates would definitely work best for our family since I’m the only one currently that drinks anything that needs to be in a mug! With the exception of a few times a year having hot chocolate, my family pretty much sticks to cold drinks and the mugs would be wasted on us.

  • http://taylor-madebaby.blogspot.com/2009/09/review-of-fearless-by-max-lucado.html Brianne

    1. Tell us what you would do with the china if you were to win. – I’d make the plate set a part of our family Christmas traditions. Since we’ve got young kids, I’m looking for different traditions to start of our own, and using the same dishes is something that kind of goes back to my grandmother. She used to always get out her good red depression glass for Christmas for us all to use – even when we were little! She valued the occasion and memories more than her dishes, and surprisingly enough, I can’t remember every breaking any of it!

  • http://taylor-madebaby.blogspot.com/2009/09/review-of-fearless-by-max-lucado.html Brianne

I would love to serve Christmas dessert and tea with this set. It is beatiful!

  • Kathleen

I love the Lenox Batik pattern. I goes so nicely with my linens!

  • Kathleen

Lenox always means holidays to me. My family has gathered around a table set with beatiful Lenox china for decades. I’m sure my children will continue the tradition.

  • Jean F

I’d use the set from the day after thanksgiving, until January 6th

  • Tracey Byram

This would be on my table every year for Christmas dinner. It would become a tradition to use this dinnerware set for Christmas.

  • Cynthia C

I would use them to serve holiday meals. They would make the occasions festive!

  • Julie

I love the 12 days of Christmas set. We could use them everyday in December to remember the wonder of Christmas!

  • elizabeth p

I would use them everyday to remind my family and friends that the spirit, the emotion behind christmas should be in our lives everyday.

  • KD A.

I adore Lenox- it is so steeped in history! I remember Grandma would always pull out the Lenox when we had holiday dinners. She made a huge production of polishing silver, pulling out the Lenox- and keeping us all away before we broke anything!

I was tickled when my husband gave me the Winter Greetings set for our family! We used it for Thanksgiving that year and every year since.

I would like the 12 days of Christmas pattern to add as a show stopper for Christmas (could Lenox be anything but?). We do traditional holiday celebrations- and embrace other cultures as well adding the feast of 7 fishes for our Christmas Eve dinner since our youngest loves seafood! How cute would it be for the kids to have that on the 12 days of Christmas dishes?

  • rutgersgal

My first memory of Lenox are candlesticks that had been a wedding present to my parents over 50 years ago and still are proudly on display. Over the years I have given and gotten Lenox as gifts. I have several Lenox ornaments which were given to me each year by a friend who has since passed away which have great sentimental value to them. Finally, at the holidays my Grinch Lenox figurines and ornaments come out; I collect Dr. Seuss items and I am so very proud of my Grinch pieces.

  • rutgersgal

If I won this contest, well, on the first day I would faint but I would hope by the twelfth day I would recover enough to have friends over to have some holiday cake on the china set. I have a Twelve Days of Christmas candle around which I would create a centerpiece to continue the motif. It is a beautiful, beautiful set.

My memory shared while using Lenox is how my neighbor always talked about how she always saved her Lenox Christmas China for special occasions, but rarely if ever used it. She just was proud to own a set. Then, our area suffered a massive natural disaster, destroying most (but not all) of her set. She decided that, since a few place settings survived the disaster, THAT was special enough of a special occasion to use the china, even if it wasn’t Christmas.

Moral to the story in our view — While you should take care of your china, china is meant to be used and enjoyed, not just packed away for safety and special occasions.

  • Mildred

Holiday Dinnerware is the Lenox pattern that is best suited for me because I enjoy serving Christmas dinner at our house. It would be great to have a set of Lenox China for such an occasion.

  • April

I would use the china for when I have big family Christmases!

  • Michelle Inman

I have five children – if we win the china, we will USE the china… we don’t save our good china for one use per year…we use it for special days, birthdays, holidays, and some Tuesdays… just because we want to feel special. I LOVE the 12 days pattern and would love to add it to our holiday festivities at home!

  • Michelle Inman

My favorite Lenox pattern is their Holiday pattern. I have eight place settings in my collection so far – so we can finally all use it together at home! We use it often during the Christmas season… I love this pattern because it reminds me of being a little girl – my grandmother has the same pattern!

If I won the China, I would use it every single year, but only on special occasions, and otherwise I’d keep it in my hutch and treasure it year-round.

  • Tesa S.

I really like the Butterfly Meadows pattern. I just love patterns instead of solids, and there are different pics on different pieces, and they are very colorful and beautiful.

My favorite Lenox design is the Bellina Gold. I’ve looked at it at the stores and it’s just gorgeous. It’s odd I like this cause I’m not a big gold color fan.

  • Deborah

If i am lucky enough to win! I would use the 12 days of christmas desert plates and mug as a new treasured part of my familys christmas day dinner tradition. Then one day, will pass the set on to my daughter to continue the tradition.

If I win I plan to use them every day of December and maybe beyond. They are so pretty.

  • Kathy

My second entry is to choose my favorite Lenox pattern. While I don’t own it, I sure would love to have the Faith pattern. So beautiful!

  • Kathy

For my third entry I would like to tell you a happy memory while dining on Lenox china. My son was married for thirteen years and while he is now divorced, many holiday meals were shared on their wedding china which is a Lenox pattern. It’s hard to throw away the good memories just because you want to remove the bad.

  • JoAnn Legano

I would give these to my sister, she does a lovely Christmas dinner for us evey year and this would be a nice thank you for her.

Christmas china is something I’ve admired but never had. Two days ago I went to a taping of the Bonnie Hunt Show and the audience was given the Lenox Christmas candy bowl. Suddenly, I thought about hom my kids and I don’t have any special traditions for Christmas dining and maybe it is time to start.

    patterns

  • Susan D

Pebble Point Dinnerware would be my choice, since it is a basic, yet elegant pattern that would go with a variety of table settings.

  • Susan D

Why do I like Lenox? Lenox is known for its quality dinnerware. When you think about Lenox Christmas China, it is the type of set that gets passed down from generation to generation as an heirloom. How many people do you know that, when you mention Lenox Christmas China, will respond with some variation of “Oooh!”, “Ohhhh!” or “Wow!” People think that it’s a wonderful set of china, and have for as long as I can remember. It lends a luxurious holiday look to a family’s Christmas table.

  • Nicole

I would love to host my Grandmother for once and have the beauthful Lenox China. She has always been the one having all the family over and it is about time for someone else to take over the reigns and let Grandma rest. What a fancy way to start a new tradition.

    Thank you

  • Caren

I would give this set as a late housewarming gift to my brother in law and his wife who likes to host big family holiday parties.

  • Caren

Bellina Gold in the Fine China category would suit me fine. We have a discontinued Lenox pattern of fine china that is a simple gold double band that they only make in a silver now. The Bellina would blend in beautifully with our original set and provide a little punch of pattern to make the table interesting. It’s simple but has an elegance that we love.

  • Caren

When I was a child, my mother had a small ivory colored Lenox candy dish. I’m sure everyone knows what I’m talking about since they still sell that type. To me, Lenox meant “expensive” and “fancy”, probably because I was never allowed to touch it. When I got engaged, I received a lot of the same type of Lenox giftware in the same color. Lo, how I had come up in the world! Those pieces survived several cross country moves and yet I still have them while the other gifts have long since gone. I can add another adjective: “timeless” to my impression of Lenox.

  • Jennifer P

I would feel very classy, yet nostalgic, serving our Christmas Dessert Party guests using this set of Lenox. My mom had a complete set of Lenox china and we knew when that china came out of the cupboard it was celebration time. I would love to be able to invoke that same feeling with my family and guests with my own Lenox.

  • Cheryl

If I won the Lenox 12 Days of Christmas set, I would use it everyday throughout the year even, to remind me that everyday is a gift.

  • http://frugaltrianglerserver.blogspot.com Sarah

    now!

  • Kathy G.

I would keep this for myself also. It seems like the ultimate luxury to have dishes just for Christmas.
