It feels like someone fired the starters pistol… my husband, Jim and I are both galloping merrily along on all manner of things that feel deliciously appropriate for beginning the new year.
Jim’s trio played
in the Edmonton
Festival. Our son,
is a film maker, and
he filmed the concert.
Since then, he and Jim have been
working on the DVD,
and it’s finally done.
We got it up on our
website today, which
felt really satisfying! Link
Another very exciting
today. My editor sent
me a note saying that
the advance copies of
‘The Woven Bag’ have
arrived, and she’s popping
one in the mail to me.
That is so exciting… the book
has been in the works for a couple of
years now, and to finally be able to hold it in my hands, and to know that it’s soon going to be on bookshelves, is over the top thrilling!
that is really
satisfying is that,
for ages now,
I have been meaning
to get around to
turning my book:
into pdf’s so that
people can order
either the knit or crochet patterns.
Well… I have finally gotten the book split into separate versions, and have re-formatted and re-shaped it totally. And, it’s finally up and running in it’s new incarnation. It’s one of my most favorite self published books, and so I am pleased as can be to be able to tick this one off my ‘must do’ list.
I used the crocheted version of ‘Our Lady of the Hours’ to crochet a fabric strip version of her, and blogged about her last summer:
Goddess of Upcycling. It tickles me that I intended to use the embroidered sections of two ‘good grief what were they thinking’ pillow cases from a yard sale to make something beautiful, and instead, ended up using the rather yucky fabric in all kinds of fun ways, including making pumpkin pincushions: pumpkin pin cushion link and cauldron pincushion link.
The embroidered parts of the pillows are still waiting for inspiration to strike.
Oh yes, back to the ‘off and running’ part of this post… I have been working really hard for months now on a new project that I am hoping to unveil soon. I am not ready to say exactly what it is, because it’s a big body of work and I am still in serious organizational, editing, photoshopping, project and model construction stage on it…. but, boy oh boy, am I ever excited about it!
And, I have another, smaller set of new designs that I am about to launch before the big one, so stay tuned, as I’ll be telling you all about that fairly soon.
All in all, 2010 is off to a very fine start! Wow… lots and lots of new beginnings. This is exciting!
I hope that 2010 is going to be a very fine year for all of us!
