I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but many people are very passionate about their slow cooker. Love it or hate it, and wish they’d never bought it. I went in search of slow cookers that were getting good reviews, and I thought that I’d found the answer. Expensive, but with excellent reviews…all except for one.
The All-Clad Stainless Slow Cooker with a ceramic insert was top rated by Cook’s Illustrated. I went to see it online, and Chef’s Catalog had 38 out of 39 fabulous reviews. And one that was steaming mad. It seems that the insert had broken, and All-Clad refused to help out with a replacement. Further, no replacement could be found to purchase anywhere by the unhappy consumer. So think about it before you buy. I further found that many who bought the Delux model, which includes a non-stick finish on a cast aluminum insert, were finding that the non-stick finish bubbles.
This slow cooker features a touch pad for easy operation, a ceramic insert, and a glass lid. It seems rather pricey at around $200, but like I said, most owners seem very very happy with it. Not so the delux model, which seems much too high at $300.
