Tell Me about The Joys of Breastfeeding

For the Carnival of Breastfeeding in February, contributors shared how they overcame obstacles to breastfeeding. For the March Carnival of Breastfeeding, let’s show the other side — “The Joys of Breastfeeding.”

While breastfeeding sometimes gets off to a rocky start, it can be such a joy once mother and baby get the hang of it. Write a post about what you like best about breastfeeding and email me your submission by March 15, 2010, for consideration for the blog carnival on March 22, 2010.

As a reminder, here are the guidelines that will increase the chances a post will be selected for inclusion in the carnival:
– A well-written, grammatically correct post
– Thoughtful commentary directly on point for the carnival subject
– Overall quality of the rest of your blog and whether the general subject matter is something of interest to our readers (breastfeeding, parenting)

If your post is selected for inclusion, you will be asked on the day of the carnival to publish or re-publish your post with links back to each of the other participants in the carnival.

Is it possible to retrospectively declare an already-written post to be an entry to the Carnival? When the weaning of my second child was imminent, I wrote a post about all the things I liked about breastfeeding (at, and I can’t think of anything I’d really add to what I said then. So I don’t know whether to repost it as an entry, or cut and paste part of the text, or what… anyway, would I be allowed to do that?

You can use an old post if you re-publish it so it’s at the top of your homepage on the day of the carnival. Please email me the link (even though you have it here) so I can forward it to the other carnival hosts and keep it in my email folder for carnival day. Thanks!

Sorry, that link didn’t come out because of the brackets. Just delete the closing bracket, which ended up as part of the link by mistake.

I still need you to email the link to me so I can forward your email along to the carnival hosts and have it on file for the carnival.
