Dogs can be a lot of work, but in some ways, that’s a good thing. According to researchers at the University of Missouri, dogs might be even better workout buddies than humans. The researchers tested a walking program on two groups of people: One was asked to walk with a dog regularly, and the other was asked to walk with a human regularly. Surprisingly, the group paired with dogs showed a much greater improvement in fitness.
It turns out that those who walked with dogs were more likely to stick to their walking program and stay motivated than those walked with humans. So instead of wasting time trying to get your friends and family to work out with you, you should just strike a deal with Fido.
