Smoke Free Parks In New York β€” Will Your City Follow?

photo: Thinkstock

New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg acted today to ban smoking in parks and beaches, on the grounds of the health risks linked with second-hand smoke. We’re excited to no longer gag on smoke while enjoying a lunch break in the park. We’re assuming, though, that the ban will have some hefty backlash from smokers.

Should smokers be able to smoke in public spaces? Maybe they should just look at this as a perfect excuse to quit.
