If you’re kicking yourself for getting overly festive on St. Patrick’s Day, this beer infographic from Belancio design firm should make you feel better. (As for the actual hangover symptoms; you’re on your own.) Their stats show that your beer-drinking habit isn’t all bad (as long as you’re sipping a pint or two; not ten). Some studies show that moderate drinking could help you live longer than your abstinent peers, and other benefits include lowering stress and risk of diseases like rheumatoid arthritis and senile dementia:
Of course, the infographic comes from a design firm, not doctor’s office, so we’d advise that you take it with a grain of salt. Some of the graph’s claims are pretty out of line (they claim beer can help us sleep better; all the sleep experts we’ve talked to say to steer clear of any type of alcohol before bed), and even their facts about mortality rates of drinkers are still up for debate among researchers. But for the hyper-health concerned, we think it’s a good reminder that a little Guinness won’t kill you; it may even make you stronger.
