We’re categorically opposed to diet-busting advertisements for processed food products and fast food restaurants all over TV – they’re just not good for our waistlines, and worse, they tend to target kids, who get addicted to things like pop tarts and end up being obese. But all lofty food principles aside, this clip of the Food Network’s commercial break is just plain funny: First, we hear a couple’s glowing review of Weight Watcher’s, then we get clobbered with images of the world’s gnarliest fast food in an ad for the premier of Outrageous Food. Wings, burgers bigger than a baby, and pizza so massive it looks like it could eat us before we could eat it, or…Weight Watchers?
We’re not sure what kind of demographic they’re pitching to their advertisers, but it seems to be working (all) across the board:
