Over the weekend, during a debate over abortion amendments, Minnesota Representative Glenn Gruenhagen argued that abortion should be illegal. That’s not shocking for a GOP representative, but among his arguments were the fact that supreme courts ruled in favor of slavery, and turned out to be wrong, and that abortion encourages men to use women. Confused? So are we.
In the video below which was filmed during the debate, Representative Glenn Gruenhagen (R) says, “Let me just remind you, especially ladies, it was seven men that made abortion legal. Not seven women. Now what’s the significance of that? Men, a certain percentage have developed a perverted view of women and what abortion tells men is they can use women and lose them. OK? Use and lose them and run from their responsibility. Then on top of that we have the state showing up and paying for the sexual exploitation of women. Ladies, let’s put a stop to this. Let’s put a stop to sending a message to men that they can use you and leave you with the consequences and have the government pick up the tab for that.”
Funny how he’s trying to twist tenants from the feminist movement in order to further marginalize them. Watch the video below and answer our opinion poll, do you think his argument has merit?
