I know; Elizabeth is the one known for being Good At Life; not me. But this morning, I had a minor stroke of genius that I think qualifies as a tip for this column: Making popsicles out of smoothies!
I’ve started testing out some recipes from Kimberly Snyder‘s book, The Beauty Detox Solution (celebs like Drew Barrymore, Olivia Wilde, Vince Vaughn, and Owen Wilson have all been raving about it), and one of the basics is her Glowing Green Smoothie. It’s awesome. But, the recipe produces a whopping 60 ounces of beverage, which is way too much for me to down in a day (even if I have my boyfriend around to help me slurp). Snyder recommends freezing leftovers in individual portions to thaw later in the week, but this morning, while sucking down my blended greens and fruit, I had an epiphany: Why not make Glowing Green Smoothie Pops?
Snyder’s recipe isn’t the only one that produces more smoothie or juice than I can have in one go; smoothies often yield at least two servings or more, and they don’t tend to keep very well in the fridge. So instead of wasting your smoothie or forcing down a double portion, try my trick: Make smoothie pops!
See, I can be Good At Life!
