Forget about boobs and abs this season, everyone seems to be obsessing over butts. Pippa Middleton unquestionably stole the show at sister Kate‘s royal wedding with her perfectly sculpted derriere that sent the world into a tizzy over this formerly-unknown bridesmaid. But long before Pippa was even a household word, stars like J-Lo, Beyonce and Kim Kardashian have kept us preoccupied with their behinds. Luckily for all of us ass-staring-fans, Kardashian’s trainer, Kathy Kaehler, has finally revealed the secret to her client’s perfectly round and toned glutes: the forward and backward lunge.
No surprises here: This is a move that’s been around for eons. What personal trainer hasn’t
punished encouraged her clients with dozens of these butt-busters? Although Kardashian’s mega-bucks seem to get her a more sophisticated, hi-tech version of these lunges unknown to us commoners until today: Use a deck of cards, says Kaehler.
Here’s how it works she told The Price of Fame:
Hold 10 to 25 cards in one hand. Each card will represent one lunge. No, it doesn’t matter what number is on the card–they simply represent the number of reps you will do. Keeping your right foot stationary, take a large step forward with your left foot then bend that knee to a 90-degree angle by lowering your hips toward the ground. Toss one card on the ground to represent one rep. Move your left foot back and repeat with the right foot. Again, deal yourself a card when done and continue alternating lunges until all cards are gone.
Phew! Glad that secret’s out.
Just don’t go thinking this move will get fans staring at your butt. As we all know, a toned and sculpted behind takes a lot more work than that–or at least some really good padded panties. Although, that doesn’t seem to be the case with Kardashian. Sister Khloe recently posted an X-ray of Kim’s derriere on her website and wrote, “Hey dolls. The PROOF is in the X-ray. Kim’s ass is 100% real!!!”
