Michelle Obama has been all over the talk show circuit in the last few weeks, promoting the “Let’s Move” campaign, her champion cause to end childhood obesity in the United States…and proving that she’s basically a fitness bad-ass. But last night, it reached an apex of awesomeness, when she invited Jimmy Fallon to the White House for some hula hooping and potato sack races. Adorableness and inspiration ensued.
The FLOTUS has already done push-ups with Ellen and made Jay Leno eat his veggies for the first time in decades to bring attention to her very-important, very cool initiative. But last night’s appearance on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon was probably the cutest of them all, as she basically mopped the floor with the television host, besting him in push-ups and just about every other physical challenge.
I’m not sure how Michelle, who admits that she’s “pretty much willing to make a complete fool” of herself to get kids moving, manages to look so effortless and awesome as she does push-ups and races up and down the carpet at the White House in a gunny sack, but somehow, she does. Once again, I’m so glad we have someone this inspirational leading the fight against obesity.
