This year, the theme of National Eating Disorder Awareness Week is “everybody knows somebody.” Which, in a country where, the NEDA estimates, 10 million women and 1 million men struggle with anorexia or bulimia (and that doesn’t count binge eating disorder, or ED-NOS), is about accurate. And which means that everybody, at some point, will probably be on the hunt for comprehensive eating disorder resources. But unfortunately, there’s a lot of crap out there, so we’ve rounded up some of the best digital information hubs to help yourself or someone you know.
Whether you personally are on the path to recovery and need a little boost, or you know someone who could use basic information (or some positive motivation), these sites each offer a service that can give you what you need. Body positivity for teens and adults? Check. Information about treatment? Check. Anonymous meetings and support groups? Yup. Support for men who struggle? Got it.
Bookmark these awesome resources, so when you realize you know somebody (or somebody comes to you for help), you’re prepared with the right stuff.
Did I miss a really great resource? Let me know in the comments!
