To the editor at the New York Post, where is your class? Since when is fat talk about Governor Chris Christie news? Your headline calling him a whale is just plain juvenile and offensive–especially when he was visiting a holy site in Israel.
While Christie was at the Western Wall–otherwise known as the Wailing Wall–which is the holiest site in Jerusalem, you decided to turn that into a fat joke for your headline:
The Whale at the Wall: Christie Weighs in at Israel Holy Site
In other words, Christie is so fat that he’s like a whale at the “Wailing Wall”. And he’s there “weighing in” on important stuff. Yeah, we get it. But it sounds more like something an elementary school kid would come up with than a team of supposed professional journalists.
Then you go on to say:
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie made a huge impression at Israel’s Western Wall yesterday during his first official overseas trip as head of the Garden State.
Huge impression. There it is again.
And in the second paragraph, you add:
Christie, wearing a yarmulke with his name and title embroidered on it, brought his political heft to the holiest Jewish site in Jerusalem, where he laid his hands on the rough-hewn stone, his eyes shut in prayer.
Political heft, uh-huh. This is getting really old.
We get that there is an occasional slow news day, but, come on, fat talk about politicians is really low. What does that have to do with politics, anyway?
All of this just makes you look like every other classless tabloid out there. We had higher expectations for you.
