Hey, drinkers: What’s the longest you’ve gone without alcohol? April is “Alcohol Awareness Month,” according to U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. Deborah wrote earlier this week about the difference between moderate/healthy drinking and having an alcohol problem (a post I deliberately avoided). This got us discussing the longest we’d gone without drinking. And we’re not sure what’s normal, so we thought we’d ask you all.
If you’re a consumer of alcohol, what’s the longest you’ve been—since you started drinking, or since turning 21, or some other point at which you became relatively autonomous—without consuming even a single alcoholic beverage? Wine at dinner counts. So does whiskey in your Throat Coat tea. No judgment here (just good, old-fashioned nosiness). To alcohol awareness!
