Adult Acne: How To Grow Out Of It (Without Birth Control Or ProActive)

A distinct advantage of leaving your younger years behind should be ditching your drugstore’s acne section along with them. But for many of us, dotting our skin with ProActive and testing birth control formulas to clear up our skin is still a far too common habit. Adult acne results from the effect of hormones on the skin’s sebaceous glands (oil glands), which leads to plugged pores and outbreaks of lesions commonly called pimples or zits. But you can finally break free from blemishes with a better understanding of the most common causes and what you can do about them.

Here are a few ways to beat it without turning to toxic products or birth control:

i had severe hormonal cystic acne after the birth of my second son for a number of years. i went natural products and added chilled green tea as a toner and sometimes cleanser (soak a green teabag in hot water and cool, use a cottonball to wipe over face until clean). i also heard a great tip about using nappy rash cream (i dab the smallest amount on any pimple or area of breakout, im not sure if the product i use is ALL natural, but it seems to have an antibiotic affect.i tried everything like murad, proactive, lerosett products, acnexus, over the counter stuff and even the pill, but nothing worked…i find the green tea calms, nourishes and balances out my skin and the nappy rash cream kills off the actual pimple. this may not work for everyone, but give it a try…( i also drink maybe 2-3 cups of green tea daily)

I literally cured my adult acne by taking stabalized Allicin supplements for 3 months. The first month it gets a little worse, but after that it is eliminated.

I suffered from acne most my adult life and not even natural progesterone cream would get rid of it!

There is also a topical Allicin gel you can purchase that works great day and night under make-up to help kill bacteria!

I suffered with breakouts well into my 20s. All the above are good but one other thing that made a huge difference is cutting down on dairy. I’ve almost completely given it up, apart from a small amount in my tea, and the difference was incredible. It took about 2 weeks – a month to see a difference.
