When you really think about it, your yoga mat is kind of like the perfect workout buddy. It supports you in class. It helps motivate you (when you see it in the corner collecting dust). And it’s always there when you need it, like during Savasana when you’re really in need of a break. So why are you treating it like crap?
Like a good friend, your yoga mat needs some nurturing every now and again–and if you don’t give it a little TLC, it won’t always be there for you to walk, sweat, and stretch all over. But don’t worry, because taking care of your yoga mat/buddy isn’t difficult. It doesn’t require long talks or motivational speech. In fact, keeping your mat in top shape is as simple as changing a few habits, and developing one or two tiny new ones.
