If you haven’t already heard (oh, you aren’t following us on Facebook? That’s interesting…), it’s National Donut Day. And you know, just because we’re a health website doesn’t mean we can’t get down on a donut every now and then. In fact, donuts are absolutely my all-time favorite junk food. Which is why I have an intimate knowledge of the best and worst donuts with which to celebrate National Donut Day.
In fact, I used to be a full-time donut-slinger in college, when I worked at a wonderful little donut shop in Bellingham, Washington. You’d think that being up to my elbows in icing all day would have soured me to the ring-shaped treats, but no. All it did was strengthen my love for them, and educate me on their nutritional information.
And while no, eating donuts every single day is not healthy, eating the occasional donut (and picking the one that you’ll enjoy the most and regret the least) it totally sane and normal and, in fact, wonderful. So here’s the information you need to make an informed decision.
As Tom Haverford would say, “Treat yo’self.”
