A few months ago, I got a FitBit for my birthday. And it was kind of an eye-opener. Even though I don’t have a car and walk everywhere, as a writer who works from home, I realized I still spend a lot of time sitting. Like, really a lot. Way less than when I worked from an office and had to walk and bus to get there. And because we all know that sitting is a killer (really. Sitting is killing you. Believe it.), I needed to figure out some ways to sit less and move more.
Some of these are tips I’ve come up with myself, and others are wisdom I’ve found on FitBit’s message boards and around the ‘net. And while they may not be for everyone, there’s definitely at least one piece of advice here to help just about everyone get a little more mobile. And of course, if you’ve got some great walking or standing tips, let us know in the comments.
