Surgical facelifts are invasive, painful, and often leave patients looking a little…unusual, as if their skin is a few sizes too small. The Facelift Bungee promises to give you all the same visage-tightening results–and, in so far as it appears to be supremely painful and makes the user look slightly mad in the eye, it seems to do just that. No really. You really have to watch the instructional video to get the full effect.
The Facelift Bungee, which is a series of combs and elastic bands, is kind of like a bra for your face. See, by yanking back your hair in covert places (you make little braids around the temple and stick little combs in them), it also holds your face up. Really–”holds your face up” is what the product says about itself. See?
Wishing there was an affordable way to hold your face up for the day (or every day) without spending thousands? Now there is! Created for all of us who want a fresh look but don’t want painful surgery or costly injections.
According to the folks at Facelift Bungee, the contraption is painless, and maybe if you have one of those scalps that doesn’t cringe at the thought of a slightly-scrapey headband, that’s true. But the look in the woman’s eyes after she finishes the instructional video tells a different story. She looks about to pass out from the intense pain created by the pulling on her scalp. Also, I imagine it’s kind of rough on those little temple braids and would result in some serious round-the-face frizz.
There are similar products available–like the Bring It Up, which is basically tape–but the Facelift Bungee is possibly the more…mmm…comprehensive?
And you know, if a skin-stretching-face-bra-hair-clippy thing is exactly what you need and want going on on your head to feel confident and beautiful, more power to you. But all of the women on the website are already beautiful–and this device, while it may make them feel better, doesn’t make them any more so. It mostly just makes them look like they’re developing a diabolical plan to take over the world, one temple-braid at a time.
