Meatless Monday: 8 Vegetarian Mains To Serve At Rosh Hashanah

mushroom strudel
Today’s Meatless Monday falls smack in the middle of Rosh Hashanah, which runs from September 16th to September 18th this year. Symbolic foods typically include fish, cakes and apples–so the holiday isn’t wholly impossible for vegetarians. But desserts and side dishes do not a satisfying meal make, so we found some Rosh Hashana vegetarian entrees that don’t involve gefilte fish or meat, so that everyone can feel full by the end of your holiday celebrations.

Enjoy!

This is such a great article! I am a pharmacy student studying at Natural Standard in Boston, MA, where I am learning about complementary and alternative medicines. I also just celebrated the high holidays with my family, which made this article double interesting to me! I love the ideas, especially since this is one holiday that is easy to transform into a vegetarian holiday as well.
