Dax Shepard says his recent conversion to a vegan diet makes him feel “at least” 15% better. He told Playboy all about the various ways eating a plant-based diet has changed his life:
“It’s nothing like the pill in The Matrix but damn good, like 15 percent across the board in every respect. I sleep 15 percent better. My allergies are at least 15 percent better. I have fewer body aches. My skin looks better. I’m never starving, and I never need to ride the couch feeling completely full and disgusting.”
I think it’s kind of funny how he says 15%; it’s so specific! But who am I to judge how much better he feels? 15% (while maybe a low estimate?) sounds pretty awesome to me.
Dax and his fiancee, #30dayhomie Kristen Bell converted to a plant-based diet this past January, after watching Forks Over Knives. Kristen told Women’s Health, “”It’s more about the health benefits than the ethics. But it’s compounded by the fact that I love animals and feel better not eating them.”
Dax hasn’t been vegan for that long, but it’s telling that he’s already reaping the benefits after less than a year without any animal products. Research and anecdotal evidence for a plant-based diet just continues to pile up. Dax and Kristen aren’t the only celebrities jumping on the vegan train, either: NFL runningback Arian Foster, Usher, Bill Clinton and scores of others are eating vegan and loving it.
