Pringles is jumping on the holiday bandwagon. And not in a good way. The chip-maker just unveiled its new holiday flavors. You can wait until November to try these not-even-close-to-being-a-potato-chip snacks yourself, or you can take it from others who already tested them–and called them a “horrible abomination to humanity.”
Pringles holiday flavors include Pumpkin Pie Spice, White Chocolate Peppermint and Cinnamon & Sugar. Wait, I thought these were supposed to be potato chips? Sure, they probably lack any real potatoes, but pumpkin and white chocolate just seem, well, bad. Not to mention gross.
And taste-testers seem to agree.
Some of the folks over at the Huffington Post sampled the holiday chips described them as just “wrong, wrong, wrong.” Samplers of the Pumpkin Pie Spice were “surprisingly not revolted,” while the White Chocolate Peppermint was described as a “horrible abomination to humanity” and akin to mouthwash gone bad.
And when it comes to nutrition, we can already tell you it will be bad. An original-flavored snack pack already has 110 calories and 11% of your daily fat. Douse it in more artificial flavors and white chocolate, and who knows what you’ll end up putting in your mouth.
Note to food manufacturers: Not everyone can–and should–attempt a holiday-flavored product. Some things are better left alone.
