Pregnant Kim Kardashian would like you all to know she does not feel the same cravings as the rest of us normal people, but instead only wants veggie platters. She’s just, y’know, throwing that out there…(cough) tabloids (cough).
In an interview with E! News, Kardashian statedÂ that she just doesn’tÂ ”crave any of the junk food that I used to eat normally and that really is upsetting to me. I thought I was going to be home eating like McDonald’s and Taco Bell and ice creamâ€”can’t eat any of it.”Â Just FYI.Â Ahem.Â So, whatÂ does she eat?
“I crave carrots and celery with ranch. I have to have that once a day, and protein bars.” Oh, okay. Well, that’s all well and good, I suppose, despite sounding suspiciously like humblebragging, but E!‘s commentÂ on the cravingsÂ also irritated me.
So healthy! And while her cravings may not be the most fun snacks, we’re pretty sure both mom and baby Kimye will benefit from her nutritious diet in the long run!
Yes — having a healthy diet is important while pregnant (and at every other time in a person’s life). However, I’m also pretty sure that her baby would be okay if she did occasionally decide to eat any food besides whateverÂ Cosmo recommends as “go-to hunger soothers that won’t make you gain weight!”
Seriously, though: you can practically hear her and her publicist screaming, “Stop calling me fat, please! Look, I’m eating healthy! Put me on the cover ofÂ ShapeÂ after this!” particularly after she actually does comment, “I mean, all the magazine’s say I’m like 500 pounds.”Â While I totally believe that she –nor any other pregnant woman, or woman, or person — should never have to feel bad about her weight, size or shape, I think this interview that seemingly revolves around her pregnancy cravings is just plain silly. Focusing so much on what pregnant Kim Kardashian kraves is just another way of focusing on her body. Believe me, I’m all for folks sharing fun homemade recipes for snacks that they ate during their pregnancy or offering up actually interesting info, but is it really noteworthy to do a whole interview on how she eats carrots and doesn’t feel like stopping for pizza?
I know that when I am pregnant, I will crave potato chips and ice cream and avocado. I also know that 95% of the time, I crave potato chips and ice cream and avocado and many other things. This is obviously not at all relevant to the discussion, I just figured I’d throw that out there — so if any of the rest of you are planning on getting pregnant in a couple years, we can have guacamole sundae parties, mmk? We can evade the paparazzi’s dumb questions together, no doubt.
