Fitness Friday: Workout With Jane Fonda Like It’s 1986

Screen shot 2013-11-29 at 3.33.29 PMWelcome to Fitness Friday- Every week, I sit on my butt and tirelessly search for the best YouTube workouts for people who want to exercise without leaving their houses or spending any money. Enjoy my finely curated lists, my poor and lazy kindred spirits!

Who hasn’t heard of Jane Fonda. Boy is she an amazing woman. She’s an actress, writer, activist, model, and fitness guru. She’s basically got it all, always has got it and always will. Before the internet was chock full of exercise gurus and Gwyneth Paltrow wannabes, Jane Fonda had workout videos. She was responsible for making fitness and exercise popular and accessible. Jane Fonda is basically the reason why we even have exercise videos at all. No, we’re not giving her too much credit.

Check out these 5 Jane Fonda workouts available on YouTube so you can exercise while celebrating a legend:

Jane Fonda Advanced Workout- Almost a full hour of spandex, dance belts and Jane Fonda realness. This video is in its 30s and is the ultimate classic exercise tapes.

Jane Fonda Fat Burning Latin Dance Workout- This fun and dance-y workout is a more current Fonda-joint. Tip from Jane: “feel like you’re dancing barefoot in the sand.” I really want to do this one with my mom in her living room.

Jane Fonda’s Light Aerobics & Stress Reduction Program- This old school Fonda video is fun and seriously chill. She reminds you not to trip! It’s the gentlest way to work it. BRB going to buy a pastel leotard and matching gym socks.

Jane Fonda Floor Work- I dare you to not bust out laughing during this workout. The 80s were damn goofy, but that just makes this kind of video more fun. We like this one because you don’t have to get up really.

Meditation and Relaxation with Jane Fonda- This workout deviates from our usual Fitness Friday fare, but we totally believe that relaxation, stress relief, mindfulness and meditation are just as important as getting your heart rate up. Jane Fonda agrees, apparently, because she has this 10 minute video to help you calm down.
