After weeks and weeks and weeks of Fitness Friday roundups and posts like this, some of you already know how I feel about being able to get a good workout without having to leave my house. I really love it. At-home exercise is a great way to be fit and debilitatingly lazy at the same time. It’s the best!
Despite my passion for being simultaneously active and indolent, I didn’t know until recently that there were top notch and polished workout videos available on Hulu, the website I subscribe to in order to watch certain TV programs without having to go outside and buy a TV set. I went through a number of their available fitness videos and I’m so stoked to try some of them out. There are silly options, corny options and really legit ones. You can find long and short workouts on Hulu, really anything you could want or need. Sure, having to deal with a commercial in the beginning is a pain, but use that time to hydrate.
Here are 5 Hulu workout videos I definitely plan on doing:
Gaiam Pilates- Though they have a number of different Pilates workouts form X to Y, I’m going to start with Pilates Barre because it combines my two favorite kinds of exercise. It looks as though you may need some tools for a lot of the Gaiam Pilates workouts, but if you don’thave the equipment, it’s all simple enough that you can improvise. In this barre workout, you can use the back of a chair, rather than the pole they exhibit.
The Goddess Workout- This one appealed to me because of the name, obviously. The host and instructor, Dolphina opens the workout by welcoming viewers into the world of goddess life and reminding us that we are all goddesses. I’m on board. I plan on pressuring one of my friends into doing this with me because it’s cardio belly dance and I’m a clumsy goof –someone definitely needs to be embarrassingly ungraceful with me.
My Yoga Classes- I plan on starting with Power Yoga for Beginners because no matter how many years I’ve done yoga, I’ve never been consistent long enough to consider myself anything but a n00b. The beginning is always a good place to start. This video is nearly 40 minutes and nothing to turn your nose up at, even if you’ve practiced yoga before.
The Situation Workout- Why didn’t anybody tell me that ex-reality star, Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino had workout videos that I could stream on the internet? Someone dropped the ball. Though he’s kind of an infamous douche, his workouts are sure to be hilarious and challenging. I’m definitely going to do at least one, probably “Juiced Glutes and Abs.”
Bootylicious Buns 2- I screamed with giddiness when I saw this was available on Hulu. My roommate in college and I used to do this exact workout with Stephanie Vitorino together using Exercise TV On Demand. Its very short but it burns; luckily, there’s a countdown in the corner and Stephanie Vitorino is a treat to watch. There’s a move called the clam that is both hilarious and ass-kicking. This little workout will make you so sore that you’ll need help lowering yourself onto the toilet.
