I think it’s pretty safe to say that if anyone who devotes themselves to emulating dolls is definitively a stone cold weirdo, but the famous human barbies of the internet have really been pushing the limits lately. The internet’s most famous living Barbie doll, Valeria Lukyanova believes she might be from Venus and is a certified freaky-deaky, but this might be the weirdest thing she’s done yet.
Lukyanova isn’t undergoing hypnotherapy to become a vacant shell of a human like Blondie Bennet who we talked about the other day, but she’s doing something far more dangerous and controversial (potentially) in her pursuit to look like a plastic toy– Lukyanova aka Space Barbie is converting to Breatharianism, a starvation cult that believes humans can and should subsist off of only air and light rather than food and water.
We don’t know if her conversion to Breatharianism is part of her bizarre space alien belief system or her hell-bending devotion to looking like Barbie, but she does seem happy with it.
From Lukyanova herself:
“In recent weeks I have not been hungry at all; I’m hoping it’s the final stage before I can subsist on air and light alone.”
Either she’s turning into a plant who can photosynthesize or the final stage she speaks of is death because humans need food to live.
I’m all in favor of Valeria Lukyanova doing whatever she wants with her body, but Breatharianism is totally not safe at all. Weird surgery, clothes and makeup are no big deal, but starvation is a huge deal and she should stop before she dies.
