The 10 Most Tremendously Calorific Fast Food Burgers

burger caloriesCompiling this list really made it clear why fast food restaurants must clearly and obviously list nutritional information for their patrons At some of these restaurants, it’s hard to find a burger that doesn’t exceed 1,000 calories. By the end of my menu-search, sandwiches in the 500-to-600 calories range seemed positively restrained.
Fast food establishments make it way to easy for their customers to indulge in a whopping portion of their daily calories in one single sandwich. The calories come from these greasy spoons making their sandwiches too big and adding too many extras like cheeses and sauces. They’re really over-doing it with their burgers and it seems a little desperate. Not even large amounts of bacon and fried onions piled between buns can beat the flavorful simplicity of a well made hamburger.
Here are the 10 most calorific fast food burger options:
1) McDonald’s-mcdonalds logo

People give Mcdonald’s a lot of attitude, but their burger with the highest number of calories is a dainty snack compared to other massive sandwiches offered at other fast-food joints.

2) Five GuysFive Guys logo

Here’s a tip about five guys, you can get “little” versions of all of their burgers and they are more humanely portioned. The little version of this bacon cheese burger is still more than a meal could be with 560 calories.

3) Jack in the Box-
This burger is barely under 1000 calories and great googly-moogly that’s a lot of calories, yet by the time you finish reading this list, it will seem like a calorific bargain.

4) Wendy’swendyslogo

It’s like a normal cheeseburger, but thrice MORE MORE MORE with triple the meat patties. Three times the juicy meat in your mouth will become three times the hot animal meat in your guts. Happy digesting. Blech.

5) Carl’s Jr.-carlsjrcalories
Here are the ingredients as described by the restaurant website “Charbroiled 100% Black Angus Beef Patty, Guacamole, Two Strips of Bacon, Two Slices of Melted Pepperjack Cheese, Lettuce, Two Slices of Tomato, Red Onions, and Santa Fe Sauce, now served on Fresh Baked Buns.” It sounds delicious because guacamole is basically magic goo, but there’s too much going on here in too large of quantities, because the calorie count is outrageous.

6) Burger King-

Burger King’s TRIPLE WHOPPER® “boasts three ¼ lb. * savory fire-grilled beef patties topped with juicy tomatoes, fresh cut lettuce, creamy mayonnaise, crunchy pickles, and sliced white onions on a soft sesame seed bun. *Based on pre-cooked patty weight.” If you didn’t put it together, that’s 3/4 lbs of ground meat that the burger is “boasting” and that you’ll be consuming if you order this. I think that’s a bit far too much meat.

7) Sonicsonic-logo

Yikes, in regards to this huge burger sandwich, Sonic says “[b]acon makes everything better – especially when it’s as good as our SuperSONIC® Double Cheeseburger.” In this case, bacon is just adding a helluva lot of calories to an already excessive cheeseburger. Bacon is tasty but I can think of a myriad of things it does not improve, for example: kosher meals and unhealthy hearts.

8&9) Red Robin- RedRobinLogo

This burger comes in second place at Red Robin for highest number of calories. If eat one of these allegedly “highly prized burger[s]. Topped with tangy steak sauce, chipotle aioli, Bleu cheese, tomatoes and crispy onion straws,” you probably won’t be able to eat  more for the rest of the day. Red Robin says the burger is “the envy of the county fair” because the way they describe their massive sandwiches could not be more corny or irritating.

1382 calories.

This item is described by Red Robin as their “smoky, tangy tribute to the Wild West. We roped together our signature bourbon-infused Whiskey River® BBQ Sauce, crispy onion straws, Cheddar, tomatoes and mayo. See if you can hang on to it for eight seconds.” That description is almost as corny as this burger is calorific. The calorie content tops out around the number of calories a small and not-so-athletic lady like myself will eat in a entire day.

10) White Castlewhite castle logo
This once was a little tricky to figure out. White Castle sells sliders and individually they aren’t too bad, but people don’t tend to eat just one slider at White Castle. Based on their website they try to get you to order at least two or four of their freaky little steamed burgers. We calculated this content based on someone consuming four of these guys at 400 calories a piece.

1600 calories for a burger is perfect if it’s the only thing you want to eat that day, I guess.

It’s the kind of volume you’d have to lay down to digest. NO thank you.

Sad to say I had a Red Robin Bleu Ribbon burger this weekend :( But it was oh so good, and I felt like I deserved it after walking around Six Flags for 6 hours.
You forgot to mention that Red Robin’s fries are bottomless… #notashamed #alittleashamed
