Every time you glance at a tabloid when you’re waiting in line at the grocery store, it seems like there’s another celebrity taking on a vegan diet. There’s Ariana Grande proclaiming her disgust for “cow tit pus,” there’s Bill Clinton wanting to reverse his unhealthy habits, and there’s Beyoncé and Jay Z wanting us to talk about them. Whether this is happening because celebrities want to move towards a healthier lifestyle that benefits animals and the environment or because it’s super trendy, we’ll have to wait and see. In the meantime, let’s just celebrate the fact that another famous body is now running on a plant-based diet!
Jennifer Lopez went on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show yesterday to talk about the recent changes to her eating habits. According to JLo,
I did the vegan 22-day plan and it was really good, and I kept on with it for a few more weeks. Now I’ve, you know, incorporated a little bit of fish here and there, but I’ve gotta tell you– I enjoy it. I enjoy eating that way. I never did, and I didn’t know how good you feel when you really put healthy stuff in your body. I was so used to eating the way I grew up.
Awesome! I obviously don’t think it’s necessary for all human beings to adopt the same style of eating, and it’s maybe a little silly to model your own lifestyle after one you hear a stranger talking about on the radio, but if a celebrity wants to use their influence to encourage people to take care of themselves, I’m all for it. Jennifer Lopez has a lot of power in this situation, too– no offense to Bill Clinton, but people are probably a lot more interested in having her body than his. But maybe that’s just me.
