Starbucks Is Officially Ending Your Summer Early, Will Start Serving Pumpkin Spice Lattes on August 25

Pumpkin Spice Latte Twitter

Big news, guys. Starbucks is rolling out their Pumpkin Spice Latte early this year. To unveil the big news, they gave the seasonal drink its very own Twitter account to make its announcement.

Now that’s good marketing!

You were probably just saying how you can’t wait for pumpkin-flavored everything to make its way back onto the market, despite the fact that it’s 90 degrees and you’re sitting on the beach in a bikini (wishful thinking, on our parts).

So the wait (that you never really had) will soon be over!

The seasonal favorite drink will be ready to sip on August 25. So you can stick to your margaritas and seasonal wheat beers for now, but fall will be here before you know it.

While I’m certainly not going to bash the pumpkin-everything trend because pumpkin-flavored things are indeed, delicious (pumpkin muffins, pumpkin coffee, pumpkin bread, pumpkin cookies, OMG PUMPKIN), I do feel like we’re rushing this a bit.

I mean, summer isn’t technically over until September 23.

Don’t you guys want to enjoy the last bit of summer, rather than impatiently wait for fall-flavored things? Can we really not wait to down a menu item that reminds us of Thanksgiving?

For those of us who have graduated from college and aren’t parents or teachers, we don’t get that ‘back-to-school’ feeling that comes with fall. Instead, we have ‘back-to-pumpkin-everything,’ and now the timing is getting all messed up, and now I’m confused.

Don’t mistake my confusion for anger, though–I’m certainly not mad that Pumpkin Spice Lattes are about to re-enter my life like the ex-boyfriend I know is perfect for me but keeps mysteriously disappearing during the warmer months.

If you’re feening for a Pumpkin Spice Latte after reading this, I’m sorry. The good news, though, is that you can follow them on Twitter at @TheRealPSL while you wait.

Whoever is running it is pretty funny.

I love a good pumpkin spice latte, but only when it’s chilly enough to wear a coat outside. Starting in August is just absurd.

Our August has been so mild I am in the mood for fall already. I went out for a walk for coffee as my work day started and I could have used a lightweight jacket!

Here in Germany it’s the same with all the gingerbread stuff (which is meant to be for the christmas season).

It keeps coming back into the shops every year by August, while it’s usually still pretty hot. And melting chocolate icing from gingerbread hearts is just not a thing that you would want while hanging out at the beach or in a park in the sunshine.

I ususally don’t buy any before mid-November or so, but I the majority seems to do otherwise.
