Tomorrow is the day. Sunday at 9pm the competition begins. We have only 3 more contestants to meet.
Rory is a restaurateur from Texas. She dropped out of high-school to begin her culinary training. She is in the process of opening her first restaurant and in the mean time is doing a lot of cooking and catering. She admits that she will probably not be the best chef at the competition but will probably be one of the most entertaining. Her secret weapon is her personality and sarcasm. By the looks of things she is a bit accident prone, but that seemed to work for Rachael Ray.
Adrien Sharp is a 29 year-0ld uniform deliveryman from Michigan. He is married with three children. His employer did not grant him a leave of absence to come to the competition. Just a note to the employer, whoever you are—Shame On YOU! He is a self taught cook, most of everything he learned from good ole’ mom. He hosts a local TV show called Home for Dinner. He wants a show that incorporates music and food. He considers his food healthy comfort food with a Southwest flair. It appears that his TV experience will pay off, but he admits he often changes things up while he cooks, and that could end-up being a very bad idea when he is under the gun.
Nikki is a caterer from Oakland, CA. She loves food and loves creating theme related parties. Watch-out Sandra Lee. She said that she needed to be the Next Food Network Star because the Food Network needed a little brown sugar. I thought at first that was in reference to her African-American heritage. No…she literally puts a little brown sugar in everything. Maybe that is a metaphor.
Don’t miss tomorrow’s premier episode. The Next Food Network Star, season 3, airs Sunday nights at 9pm EST on the Food Network.

Mighty Ducks, Mighty Chef?
In case anyone else couldn’t put their finger on it, Colombe was in the Mighty Ducks movies. It drove me crazy for about an hour before I figured it out. Kind of takes away from the everyday person they are trying to make these people come across as…
