I’d like to share another guest post from my bridal blog. I wrote this list when I was planning my own wedding a couple of years ago and feel it’s still completely applicable today!

- Because you want to create a unique wedding.
- It’s a great way to save money.
- You want to be more involved in your wedding (and not just turn it over to a planner or someone else).
- Because you love to make things.
- You & your fiance want to express your own distinct style.
- You don’t want to do the big, white, poofy princess wedding gown.
- You do want the big, white, poofy, princess wedding gown – but you want to make it yourself!
- It’s an easier way to create an eco-sensitive (or insert your special desires here) wedding by being creative.
- Your fiance is not a standard suit or tux kind of guy (or gal).
- And just because it’s a great way to create a memorable wedding!

Doing it yourself really makes you feel like you own your wedding!
Our wedding is set for June 21st 2009 and we are doing it simple. I found my dress at Lord and Taylor’s for $148.00 and is a summer type of dress that is knee length and all lace, Off-white w/ a satin bow in the middle front of dress. Weare getting married by the Justice of Peace for $200.00 and that includes the marriage license, photos, rose petals on floor, wedding tresel(Arch)w/flowers and lights, one ring ceremony. For my FLower girl and Maid of Honor I personally made them Sterling Silver Charm Bracelets w/ silver charms that display words that fit their personality. Then Dinner at Olive Garden afterwards. It is going to be a Joyous Day for all.
