Sure, we talk about the really big things to be thankful for this year. Things like our health and family. Those are very important. But it’s Thanksgiving, so why not have a little fun as well? You know you appreciate some things that normally wouldn’t be considered all that important, but you love them anyway! Here are ten kind of silly things to be thankful for.

- Turkey drumsticks. Why? Because they are fun to eat and taste good, that’s why!
- Cheesy turkey plates and dishes. I’m a sucker for turkey stuff. I have turkey plates, napkins, butter dish, and this year I even picked up a turkey gravy boat. Corny? Perhaps. But there is something about reaching into that cabinet to pull out those dishes that makes me very excited Thanksgiving is here!
- Wish bones. You can’t make a wish without them, right? (Well you can, but it’s way more fun with the wish bone.
- New flavors of soda. This time of year is famous for new kinds of soda flavors. Which reminds me, have you tasted Diet Pomegranate 7-Up yet?
- Turkey leftovers. If you go out for dinner, you miss this, but making turkey a zillion different ways is the best.
- Forgetting the rolls. Sitting down to eat and picking up your fork when you realize the rolls are still in the oven. Perhaps this comes when you smell them burning. Either way, it’s a tradition. Embrace it.
- Fall colors. You can pick up some beautiful branches and leaves from outside for cheap yet vibrant table decoration. Frugal yet fun? We like that.
- That friendly family spat that never seems to go away. Would it be a holiday without it?
- Eighty bajillion pumpkin recipes. Pumpkin rocks!
- The Macy’s Parade. Giant cartoon balloons and Broadway stars… where else can you get that combination!
