10 things people do when they have pain

What do you do when you’re having pain other than take medications, if that’s what you do? Here are things that people do:

  1. Distraction – working on a task that takes concentration
  2. Sleep – some people try to sleep their way through a crisis
  3. Watch funny movies or television
  4. Go for a walk and stimulate other senses
  5. Aromatherapy
  6. Talk to a friend
  7. Withdraw into a cocoon
  8. Take a bath/shower
  9. Meditate
  10. Ignore it

What’s on your list?

I think you pretty much covered it! If I’m home, it’s sleep or a movie with my husband.

If I’m at work it’s distraction by talking to a coworker.

Good list. Although I hate when I realize I fit into a catagory – which I’m finding more and more these days with my pain.

Thanks for all the articles! You rock!!

The only other thing that leaps out to me is spending time with a pet. Cuddling with my kitty helps me cope with pain on many bad days.
