10 Tips to a Smooth Sailing Morning

With school in session and both parents working these days, getting out of the house in the morning can be quite the circus act. If you leave the house like a tornado sweeps through a town, you’ll come home to ruins. It’s not pretty. Who wants to come home after a long day of school and a long day of work to chaos? Probably not many people.

Here are Declutter It’s 10 Tips to a Smooth Sailing Morning

1. Make the kids’ lunches the night before.
2. Program the coffee or get the grounds and water ready the night before.
3. Have everyone pick out what they’re going to wear for the next day.
4. Do a 5 minute clean up before bed and in the morning.
5. Set everything that needs to go with you in the morning by the door.
6. Start the day with clean bathrooms and clutter-free sinks and toiletries.
7. Have the kids give you papers to sign the night before.
8. Set the table for breakfast the night before and know what’s on the menu.
9. Leave the tv off and put on some music that gets you and the kids going.
10. Make sure you wake up with plenty of time to get ready. Set 2 alarms if necessary.

@Angelique – It’s amazing how calm it feels after the tv has been blaring and you turn it off. I almost feel like angels should come down from the sky and start singing. :)

  4. Julie says:

@Jennifer – Yes, I love my coffee maker almost as much as my children. A few months ago we got the pod coffee maker. I love it! You just plop in a pod, push a button and voila! coffee. Yum.
