100 Things List

October 10, 2007 by Heather Goldsmith

While reading Shai Coggins blog today I came across her latest entry; To Do: Create 100 Things List. I just couldn’t help passing on this excellent idea. Although, Shai is encouraging you to write your list of 100 for your blog, I’m going to encourage you to write your list in your journal.

Dedicate a page, or two, to your 100 things list. Decide what you will list, write as many as you can then leave the page/s and come back to it over the next few days or even weeks. Perhaps a journal entry on what you will list is a good idea, too.

I decided to create a gratitude list in my journal, as I’ve been feeling a little taken for granted recently. A great way to take the focus off my woes is to have a good look at the great things that are happening in spite of my feelings. Today I made it to 45, so I’ve only got another 55 things to add to my 100 list.

If you join in & decide to publish your list on your blog, be sure to share it on Shai’s blog as well as here so we can all take a look and be inspired by your 100 list.

I’ll always remember from Purple Ink wirewoman’s book of lists project that she was working on – 100 lists of 100 or something like that.. I don’t think she ever finished it; which is a shame. I was considering purchasing a copy. More importantly, however, I don’t think I’ll ever forget Dawn’s 101 Reasons to keep journal/diary. I’m not much of a list maker, or reader even. But it still remains my favorite list to this day. I think I’ll go red it again and contemplate the 100 list challenge some more :) .

  2. Hi Toddmen,
Yes, I do recall the lists book idea wirewoman had going. Wonder what happened to it? Apparently there is a book of lists for journal writers. I’ll see if I can find out about it and make a blog entry just for you. Hope you manage to make a 100 list for this challenge. Thanks for commenting. ;-)

    Heather –

I visited your site and enjoyed it so much I linked it to my blog “Journal Writing Tips with a Twist.” Maybe you might link back to my site as well. We journal writers need to stick together. Visit the site at http://journaltips.blogspot.com

  6. Hi Shai,
No worries. I hope it brings back some good things to you & your blog. ;-)
