100 years old and pregnant?

You’ve *got* to be kidding me.

Ok, check out this headline: Pregnancy at 100? A newborn giving birth?
Now, before we get too excited, we need to consider the source: Fox News. Not exactly the elite in news services; this story is – in my opinion – pretty darned close to National Enquirer status. But it’s out there, which means people will read it so we might as well discuss it.

I particularly like this part: “Dr. Manny Alvarez, managing
editor of health for FOXNews.com, said while pregnancy at 100 may be
possible some day, it likely would not be recommended by most doctors
because “there are numerous health risks to women — and their babies —
who decide to give birth late in life.”
Gee? You think?

I’m not even sure what to say here.

What do you think?

  1. Jason says:

Yeah Fox news are not really the best news source in the world. It may be possible some day for a 100 year old to have a child but only when medical science evolves. Its very rare that someone actually lives to 100 years old these days anyway, specially not in western culture with all the toxins available in food and the pollution of the air we breath via smoking and pollution from automobiles.

    Wowie
Because we should really be spending time and resources on getting 100 year olds pregnant.
