Watching the video below of Kimberly Anyadike, I’m struck at how motivated, inspired and just plain sweet this young pilot is. At 15, Anyadike is thought to be the youngest African-American girl to pilot across the country.
She flew 7,000 miles from Compton, CA to Newport News, VA, and back in 13 days. I’m barely brave enough to handle being a passenger in a plane, so the fact she piloted a plane across the country at such a young age is astonishing to me. Anyadike took aviation lessons at Tomorrow’s Aeronautical Museum, an after-school program for disadvantaged youth.

According to the CNN interview on the video (and transcribed online), Anyadike wants to become a cardiovascular surgeon one day. I think she can handle it!

I was blown away with the interview of Kimberly Anyadike. This young lady’s interview was perfect. She inspired and motivated me and kids to keep working towards our dream. Her complete intelligence command of the topic regarding aviation, showed her respect, understanding and joy of a task far beyond her years. This interview should be shown as an example of how to do an interview to every Politician, the media, and speech classes across the country.
Bravo…
Hi gwalton. I’m glad you found this inspiring too. You’re right. She gave a better interview than many politicians!
I am a student pilot and 23 and that is amazing to me! Definantly Motivating!
This young girl is wonderful. How i wish all young people in Nigeria are that enthusiastic. God will bless her.
