16 and Pregnant, a Reality Show?
A
gain, thanks to one of my weekly reads I have found a story so unreal that I just have to unveil it to you all.
Apparently, MTV has decided that the success of Juno was so delightful that they have to make a reality show out of it. TV Guide states that the show will be called 16 and Pregnant and will document the “touching and scary phenomenon of young girls who are faced with expecting.”
Do people at MTV not realize that this is blatant exploitation of pregnant teens and that it will not only glorify teenage pregnancy (if they are not careful to show the food and bad) but could also but also put a rather negative spin on adoption itself?
