Okay, it’s just a few more days before the halloween activities begin. I bet you and your family are already excited with the planning and preparations for halloween parties, trick or treat costumes and what not.
I’ve searched the web and compile a list of things and ideas to make this a “green” Halloween.
So here it is, the 16 Green Halloween Tips
1. Email party invites instead of using paper or cardboard greeting cards. (save the trees)
2. Make use of all pumpkin parts.
(I remember seeing pumpkin soup sometime before in the food channel. )
3. Use reusable plates, cups, utensils.
4. Rent a costume instead of buying
5. Use reusable bags for trick or treat
6. Make your own costume.

7. Give ecofriendly organic treats (ie organic candies, or things that have little or no packaging)
8. Roast pumpkin seeds.
9. Make a Tissue ghost
10. Stuff an old jeans and shirt with plastic bags and turn it into a scarecrow.
11. Replace lightbulbs with low wattage red bulbs
12. Turn your yard into a cemetery. Use cardboard box and black paint.

14. Egg carton bat
16. Recycled CD jack-o-lantern

Green is the new orange for Halloween! Thank you for sharing the green ideas and also for the Recycled lightbulb witch, I would have never thought of that and we just had a lightbulb go out that as soon as I saw it I fished it out of the trash. I wonder if you put enough Modge Podge on it, it would help it to be strong? Well I will be finding out tomorrow…THANK YOU! Will be a great project with my son.
Happy Hallowgreen!

Neat list – I bet we can use most of them for other occasions as well.
I would like to taste pumpkin soup BEFORE I make it. LOL! We did make pumpkin ice cream last month and that was YUMMY! Only thing I would do differently next time is to cook the spices into the custard base before we chill it. We added the spices AFTER the cooking and they had a little too much TEXTURE for the kids.
