I was browsing the internet and came upon 10 Extraordinary Uses for Potatoes. It is fascinating!
Potatoes are definitely some of my favorite things for many reasons but I did not know they could be used for all of the things on this list. So I started looking around for OTHER uses of the potato. Being an overachiever I listed a few more.
20 Uses for the Potato
- Mock Maple Syrup is another amazing creation I found and plan to try.
- Apply raw potato to burns to take away the pain
- If you over salted your stew or soup just toss a sliced potato in there. Set aside for ten minutes. The potato will have absorbed the extra salt.
- Dry your potato parings in the dehydrator and use them as kindling.
- If a light bulb breaks in the socket use a cut potato to unscrew it. Just push the potato over the jagged edges of the bulb and unscrew.
- Soak tarnished silver in potato water to remove tarnish.
- Rub the cut edge of a potato on a wart daily and it will go away.
- Root geraniums. Just take a potato and cut a hole down through it but not all the way through. Push a geranium stem into the potato and plant the whole thing in potting soil. Soon you will have a new geranium.
- Make a Potato Battery
- Make Smoky smashed potatoes for Cathy’ s Potato Ho Down.
- Make stamps by carving a design on the cut edge of a potato and dipping it in ink.
- Toss a thick slice of raw potato in oil to clarify it after frying.
- Toss a slice in clear broth or gravy to clarify it.
- Make potato beads
- Use potato water to rinse your face. It is very anti aging.
- Irish Potato Candy
- Make wine
- Help you sleep, just eat mashed potatoes with a glass of milk before bed.
- Make Sour dough starter
- Even more uses for the potato

I personally am a huge fan of potatoes. Thanks for all the tips, Marye.
