2009 Predictions

Whatever they are saying about the economy I’m not seeing the negatives.

Everywhere I look there is potential and opportunity.

There’s an Economic Women’s Revolution going on right now in the world and we’re going to see women explode onto the landscape. In large part because so much business can be done on the Internet. More and more of us are asking, Why not me? Why don’t I start that business I’ve always dreamed of?

This year, women will stop the futile wait for The Market to give us equal pay and we’ll create our own opportunity. We’ll create jobs , not apply for them.

We’ll have the backing of a pro-woman government to help assist us.

I’m a part of that. I’ve got my own business going and I expect it to really take off in 2009. I’ve laid the groundwork, crested the learning curve and I’m ready to push it into a new stratosphere.

My husband has a freelance design company that’s also really going to take off. Together our economy will be better than it’s ever been our entire married life. We’ve learned the hard lessons and sucked it up through the hard years and dedicatedly applied ourselves to become disciplined about money. We know what to do now and money is coming our way in 2009. Phew. Finally.

I’m redesigning and republishing my girl blog on Jan. 12 and I’m so excited about it.

I’m excited to be with b5media and Blog Fabulous and hope to take it and my relationship with my readers to a new level.

I’ve also found some local resources that I’m taking full advantage of. I’ve joined Toastmasters, an International public speaking club and I’m joining the Northeast Texas Writers Association. I’m getting a huge adrenaline rush from speaking in public.

This year I expect to make a real professional income consistent with my education and experience. In fact, I will accept nothing less.

My husband and I will help other couples be happily married.

We’ll be more happily married.

I will continue my organizational strategies, I’ll work 35 pounds off my body by putting in the effort and energy to care about what I eat and how much I move.

Is anyone else feeling this optimistic and enthusiastic about ‘09?

I am now. I think today would be a good day to revise my dream board, since every single thing on it has come true or is in progress.

    Go you!

I’m kind of like that w/ my prayers now – so many things have actually happened lately – I keep stopping myself mid sentence realizing he’s already given me that. I need to revamp my focus for the year..my mom and I are really working on being positive and expantant of good things – love the tone of blogfabulous here lately!

Oh I’m so glad to hear it. The other day my brother-in-law wrote a letter to the editor of our local paper about a very negative story.

They said, “Negative sells. We have to do it.”

I disagree. The American People have had negative up to their everloving eyeballs and we’ve had our fill.

I want positive and happy and hope and love and enthusiasm and joy and high expectations.

Cynicism has gotten us nothing but George Bush.

And you know, sometimes I get so fed up w/ media thinking they have to scandalize us to get attention. I agree fluff isn’t very interesting – but there are tons and tons of dramatic stories out there w/ happy endings..or if they could maybe highlight negative things and urge us toward a solution? I think that would be much more productive and worth my time than watching show after show after show – article after article about murders or tragedy and never offering the silver lining..the ‘here’s what we can do’ part at the end. It’s just a waste of energy and emotion.

I think I used to be immune to disturbing movies and shows and news..but now, I just become so emotionally invested and it’s not healthy. It’s a waste of my emotion if there’s no positive solution or action I can take. Yes, we all need to be aware there are scandals and bad people and dangers and abuse..we all need to keep our eyes open to those things – but most of these media pieces just want to exploit these things rather than find solutions to them..it’s literally a sickness we have as a society.

I totally agree. I have a news ban in our house. It’s bad for the psyche and soul and emotional life.

I don’t feel I need to be aware of every single horrible thing that happens on planet earth. I am ever more sensitive to violence. The less I watch of it the more offensive it is to me when I see it. And I think that’s the way it should be. Violence should be offensive. Tragedy should be terrible. We should not be so exposed that it doesn’t affect us.

    Nice pic of you all.
