A three-year-old autistic boy was found floating in a swimming pool in a house in Morgan County, Indiana and is near death. The September 24th Reporter-Times reports:
he boy was at a home next to 3976 Henderson Ford Road, according to information gathered at the scene. He was outside playing with other children and adults. At some point, the boy wandered away from the family.
A search was done and the boy was found in the swimming pool.
According to the radio log from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department, a call for help was received from the home at 4:35 p.m. The caller reported a child was found in the pool and they needed help.
Officers from the Brooklyn and Mooresville police departments and deputies from the Morgan County Sheriff’s Department quickly arrived at the scene and began CPR on the child.
The boy is a foster child and was spending a weekend at the house. His grandmother told reporters that he is on life support. The Reporter-Times does not say more about his family situation or parents.

Wow, I could be wrong but it sounds like his foster parents might have taken respite (which you can get for any foster child) for a weekend and this happened. Just wow. How very sad.
The thing to remember here is…
This can happen with any 3 year old near a pool. You have to watch any child very closely, even more so when there’s a pool nearby.
Not just a three year old, any one! Only swim in guarded waters and propper locks, gates and fences need to be a law every where to keep others from this horrible fate.
