4 Indonesians died from bird flu in one week

One day after another, Indonesians have been dying of bird flu this week. The latest brought the death toll to 61.
Saturday – a 22-year old woman died after being treated in the Persahabatan hospital in East Jakarta. She has had contact with chicken which may have died from bird flu.
Friday – a 27-year old woman died in the same hospital the day after she was admitted. It wasn’t clear if she had any contact with sick chicken.
Thursday – an 37-year old woman died after eating a sick chicken in her home December 30. She was admitted to the hospital on January 5 and died this Thursday.
The woman’s 18-year old son also died that day. He was helping his father kill a sick chicken. Reports say that there have been a lot of sick or dead chicken in his backyard. His father is also being treated in the same hospital for symptoms related to bird flu.
