We made our own (I'm an over-achiever LOL). I've actually got a juicer so you can feed it through there if you want it uber perfect, but blender is much easier (as is just cooking the heck out of it and mashing it with a fork). The juicer was a pain.

Funny note, that's actually a pic of mayo in Europe. :P

I always said I would make my own food, but never really did. I had so many coupons that I didn't pay much for it. My son was into eating solids pretty early anyway.

Or you could just break the jar and run it through a strainer ;-)

No seriously, as the mom of twins I learned how to make my own babyfood. Gotta love the blender :)

[...] Robyn at Inside Motherhood gives us a great top 5 ways to open a baby food jar. Just be careful with #4. I would end up breaking and spilling it everywhere. [...]

You're funny Robyn. I agree with Mike. If I can't get a jar open, then I run it under hot water and it pops open fairly easy.

I normally run jars under hot water. It makes everything expand which makes the jar easier to open. And then I hand it back to my wife when it hasn't moved yet, but it is loosened up and ready to open.
