50s Style Apron

I used to have this red apron that was made for me by an ex-fiance’s sister. Or maybe it was a cousin.  That part is not important. What is important is that I wore that apron for years. It was red with a small flower pattern, a gathered skirt, and a lace and ribbon trim. It was cute and useful – definitely kept my clothes clean when I was a young wife, just learning to cook.  I don’t know what happened to that apron, but I miss it.

I found a couple of really cute aprons on Etsy today. spicerak-designs-michelle-smThis one has a full circle shape skirt and a little pocket. It’s reminiscent of a 50s-style skirt (a short version of the felt skirt Mom made me for a 50s Day dance back in the day, only shorter).

The apron is printed with trees and flowers and says, “I Promise to Keep the Trees…Healthy and Beautiful.” Sounds perfect for Earth Day, doesn’t it?  You can find this apron and others at SpiceRak Designs.

it’s adorable and yes I love wearing aprons. I didn’t do it nearly as much before but the hubby won a basket end of last year that had it in it. I’ve been wearing it ever since.
