8th Wedding Anniversary

Today is our 8th Wedding Anniversary.
We feel like wearing an “I survived the 7 Year Itch” t-shirt.
We’re in a better, happier, more comfortable, more stable, more loving, deeper, more affectionate, more real, place now than we ever have been. At least I feel that way.
The 7 year itch was like a journey into marriage war, but at least we finally worked some stuff out (where previously we’d been applying Band-Aids).
The overwhelming feeling on this anniversary is Phew. We made it. Thank God (literally) we’re on the up-side.
Honey, I’m so glad we struggled through and worked it out. I’m having a lot more fun being married these days. I can honestly say I’m happily married.
As my friend, Jen from Jlogged.com put it, We found our sweet spot.
We’ll be celebrating on Friday when we go on vacation for 2 weeks! We’ll be heading to Utah to see my family and San Francisco to BlogHer, where I’ll be speaking.
I can’t say enough about our experience with Vow, a marriage education initiative sponsored by the federal government to help couples find a way to be happy.
I also can’t say enough about having more money. They say money can’t buy happiness. But, in my experience, it can buy a lot of marital peace. Certainly, there can be no marital harmony if you’re not on the same financial page.
Visit the Vow website if your marriage has some issues that need resolving.
Visit Dave Ramsey’s website to get on the same $$$ page.

Congratulations!!!!!!!
Yes, congratulations!
thanks!
Hi, You know what they say love and marriage go hand in hand and having a little money helps your getting there a lot better.
Wow Congrats! We just did our 12, it’s been a crazy road. Wishing you the best.
12 then we’ll really need a t-shirt. I’m expecting smooth sailing from 8 to 12!
Smooth sailing?!? lol We just celebrated 14 years. It’s amazing how one week you’re ready to kill each other and the next week everything is fine. It’s crazy! It’s worth the effort though.
It’s nice to hear other people admit that too.
Yep. No fairy tales here.
Congratulations, Tracee. You’re on your way! Wait till you’ve made it through 48, which Jim and I celebrate on Friday. Now they’re asking us to give talks on how we’ve come this far.
Congratulations!!!!!
48 WOW!
Wow, I can’t believe it’s been 8 years. Really cute photo. Congratulations on hitting the sweet spot. It is a nice place to be in. Enjoy your special day.
Really cute picture. Congratulations!
We just hit 3…I can’t imagine 48! But I do hope to get there.
Congratulations on eight years! Sometimes you just have to hold on through the storm.
I totally agree with you about the money, and sharing. I appreciate your honesty on the subject, and I know it makes me feel better to hear something other than “submit to your man and all will be well,” or “God intended for you to stay at home, have no job skills, and be financially dependent for the rest of your life.”
It’s all about a healthy, honest balance.
Thanks for saying so Jen.
And thanks for letting me use the picture.
Congratulations!!!!!!
My hubby and I just celebrated 10 years married in May. It’s worth the hard work involved in any marriage. Persistence, patience, and flexibility (compromise) have helped us get through some challenges.
You two look so happy in that picture.
