A Better Indicator For Heart Disease… Waist To Hip Ratio

Remember a few years back when they said that those built like and apple were at a higher risk for heart disease?  Well, I guess they have changed their minds, or so it seems.  Those of us that have big ol’ hips and a small waist, the pears,  are at just as much risk as our round friends.  I can’t keep up!  I feel like they change the parameters every time I turn around.  None the less, this is what they found…

Calcium was more likely to be found in the arteries of patients with the greatest waist-to-hip ratio and those with the largest waist-to-hip ratio had a twofold increase in the incidence of calcium deposits — a strong indicator of future cardiovascular issues including heart attacks, reported the study published in the Journal of the American College of Cardiology.

Personally I am very confused by the data and wording of the research.   What do you think about it?  Does it make sense to you?
